When it helps to hand it over

Wardrobes, beds, bookcases, desks and drawers, built in place.

  • The delivery has arrived and the boxes are blocking the hallway.
  • It is a two-person job, like a wardrobe or a bed with a heavy headboard.
  • You have moved in and there are several pieces to build at once.
  • A tall unit needs fixing to the wall so it cannot tip.

What’s included

What we build

Most flat-pack from the big retailers, plus the odd piece with instructions that are mostly pictures.

  • Wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside tables
  • Bed frames, bunk beds and cots
  • Bookcases, shelving units and TV stands
  • Desks, office chairs and dining tables
  • Garden storage boxes and outdoor furniture
Assembly instructions, a hammer and screwdrivers laid on top of a half-built wooden cabinet

How the job usually goes

  1. Step 1: Send the product name

A link or the name on the box tells us how big the job is before we arrive.

  2. Step 2: Check the parts

We open the boxes, count the fixings and tell you straight away if anything is missing.

  3. Step 3: Build and level

Built in the room it belongs in, with doors and drawers adjusted so they close properly.

  4. Step 4: Fix and tidy

Tall pieces fixed to the wall with the strap supplied. Boxes flattened and stacked for your recycling.

Good to know. We build furniture; we do not wire it in. Anything that needs connecting to the mains, like a fitted kitchen appliance or a hardwired light, needs a qualified electrician.

★★★★★Sample review

“I had been putting the wardrobe off for a month. Built, strapped to the wall and the boxes flattened for the recycling. Easy to book, too.”

Should I unpack everything before you arrive?

No. Leave the boxes sealed if you can. It is easier to check the parts against the list when nothing has gone astray.

What happens if a part is missing?

We check the parts before we start, so you know early. If a piece is missing we will tell you what to ask the retailer for, and build as much as can safely be built.

Can you fix a wardrobe or bookcase to the wall?

Yes. Most tall furniture comes with an anti-tip strap. We fit it with fixings that suit your wall, whether that is brick, plaster or plasterboard.

Will you take the packaging away?

We flatten the boxes and bag the plastic so it is ready for your recycling collection. We do not take waste away.

Can you take apart furniture for a move?

Yes, and put it back together at the other end if both addresses are in our area. Keep the fixings bagged and labelled.
